Thanks to a digital classroom plant grant, 128 public schools across Hillsborough County will be receiving new HP laptop computers this semester, including some schools in the Plant City area.
Strawberry Crest High School received its laptops Thursday, Feb. 12.
As soon as they arrived, a district technology employee led students in a lesson using the search engine BING. Microsoft provides BING lessons as part of an education program that allows schools to earn even more computers by using BING.
The HP 350 laptops have a 15-inch screen that enables students to use them for a variety of purposes. The grant for these computers and other technological devices totaled $1.7 million districtwide.
