
Shots kill one man and wound a second.
The Plant City Police Department (PCPD) is actively investigating a homicide and a shooting that occurred on February 16, 2025.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of East Warren Street for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located one male deceased inside a vehicle and another male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the arm. The injured male was treated at a local hospital and is in stable condition.
“Our department is working tirelessly and utilizing all available resources to determine what happened and bring those responsible to justice,” said PCPD Chief Richard Mills. “We are also keeping the victim’s family in our thoughts during this difficult time.”
The location of the incident is about 250 yards from the Sadye Gibbs Martin Community Center at 302 South Maryland. One neighbor, who spoke to the Plant City Observer on the condition of anonymity, said he heard a car roll by slowly, headed east toward South Park Road, then several pops. This resident previously spoke to PCPD about the incident.
