A crash on Interstate 4, west of State Route 566, closed the westbound lanes for more than an hour Thursday morning.
At approximately 6:45 a.m., a 1994 Toyota pickup truck driven by Leslie Rivera, 33, of Plant City, was traveling in the center lane. Rivera lost control and began to rotate in a clockwise direction until the front of the vehicle went under the Publix trailer of a semi. The pickup truck then overturned and was dragged by the trailer until coming to a stop on its side, in the outside lane.
Karen Fletcher, 51, of Kathleen, who was driving the semi, was not taken to a hospital. Rivera was taken to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition. The crash was not alcohol-related.
