The next CKB developmental camp will take place June 23 at the Otis M. Andrews Sports Complex.
Following the success of last year’s CKB developmental football camp, Kirk Broussard is planning to come back to Plant City soon with more skills, drills and lessons for young athletes.
The next CKB camp will once again be held at the Otis M. Andrews Sports Complex, 2602 E. Cherry St., on June 23 and will be open to kids age 5 to 15. As with the previous Plant City camp, the 2018 event will see Broussard and his staff cover the fundamentals of every position and pack plenty of action in its 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. time slot.
This year’s special guest will be wide receiver and return specialist Solomon Patton. Patton, an Alabama native, played college football at the University of Florida from 2010 to 2013 and has played professionally for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. Last year’s camp featured another former Gator and Buc, Ahmad Black, who participated in drills and spoke to the campers about his career.
Broussard said 20 campers who perform at a high level will be invited to the 2019 Youth Pro Bowl in Orlando, which will take place from January 24 through 27 next year.
Broussard’s 12-year coaching career took him as far as the NFL, where he worked for the Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills. He currently hosts youth football camps around the country and has hosted events around Tampa for the last three years.
Registration costs $69 if done in advance and $95 for walk-ups the day of the camp. Registration may be done online at CKBsports.com. For more information call 727-401-4252 or email CKBsports@gmail.com.
