The Shepherd Family, owner of How Do You Say Good-Bye Final Event Planning Service, is hosting the first La Luna Death Café from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. August 8 at the 1914 Plant City High School Community Center, 605 N. Collins St.
Attendees of Death Café may visit to discuss how to make the most of their lives and how to prepare final arrangements over cake and coffee.
The event is being held to celebrate Dying to Know Day 2015, organized by The Groundswell Project, which aims to encourage people to expand their death literacy. Dying to Know Day is an annual day of action dedicated to bringing to life conversations and community actions around death, dying and bereavement.
The not for profit, free event is open to everyone to come and share their thoughts in a safe environment.
The second café is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19.
