Laborer injured on Walden Lake Golf Course

A man trimming trees on Walden Lake Golf Course was airlifted to Tampa Genera Hospital Thursday, Sept. 24, after a large tree limb broke off of the tree that he was working on, according to a report filed with the Plant City Police Department.

Phillip Hallmeyer, 35, was working alongside Eric Poling, 33, on one of the golf course’s trees on Sutton Woods Drive. Poling left on a tractor to dump the brush. He returned 20 minutes later to find Hallmeyer face down in a pile of brush.  A chainsaw was also found in the middle of the fallen limbs.

Poling began performing CPR.

Hallmeyer sustained severe trauma to his face and had abnormal breathing. He was airlifted from the golf course to Tampa General Hospital.
