Dear Editor:
I have lived in Plant City since 1967, and I love and am proud of living here. I also was a teacher in one of our schools here. I was here during the creation of Walden Lake.
There is one thing that embarrasses me as I travel Alexander Street: the old, rickety, ugly fence that lines Walden Lake East. There is only one nice white section there. Why does the rest have to look so tacky? Can’t the city or Walden Lake put up a nice brick or stucco wall so it all looks the same like they have in Brandon, Temple Terrace and Tampa for their developments (look at the beautiful brick wall on east Hillsborough Avenue)? Wouldn’t improving that fence would make our city nicer and more upscale?
