Letter: Our vote not counted

Editor,

We are Les and Sandy Mason, and we live on Spring Hammock Drive in Walden Lake.  We are also one of the property owners whose vote was not counted in the WLCA election.  It seems that “someone” wrote across our legal proxy favoring Lynn Buehler “not listed.”  This note indicated that we were not on the list as legal residents in Walden Lake.  In actuality, we had our house built on Spring Hammock Drive in 1999 and was one of the first on the street; and we have been members of WLCA in good standing ever since.

When we inquired about our vote being thrown out, we were given no explanation.

We are angry over our treatment and disenfranchisement and embarrassed to be a part of an organization which would treat its dues paying members so shabbily and its elections so haphazardly.

Lynn Buehler was clearly the real winner in this election, and the misrepresentations to take that seat from him were almost too numerous to count.  The fact that the current board refuses to perform its own recount is incomprehensible.

Why don’t they want a fair election?  To simply pass the buck to the attorney doesn’t pass the straight face test. Could it be that the board attorney is too embarrassed to admit that the election vote which he verified was wrong?

This board is pathetic and has pushed a good person into no longer pursuing his case with the State of Florida because of the huge financial burden on him, estimated to be as much as $20,000 to $60,000.  Of course the board doesn’t have to worry about the cost of their own legal fees, as they’re working with our money.

What a sad state of affairs!
