Students from Plant City High School and Durant High School were recognized Tuesday, May 17, as winners of the VoteHillsborough Art Contest. As winners, the students' art will be used in the Supervisor of Elections' marketing efforts, including more than one million bag stuffers distributed at McDonald's restaurants.
The students created art pieces to encourage voting. First place went to Janet Kell, from Plant City High School. Durant High School student Crystal Alleyne took second place. Third place went to Savannah Mueller, from Blake High School.
Additionally, Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer recognized three high schools who had the
most successful voter registration drives during the school year. The Supervisor of Elections Office held drives in the fall and spring that resulted in more than 3,600 students registering as voters.
First place in voter registration went to Middleton High School, second place went to King High School and third place went to Bloomingdale High School.
