On Tuesday night, a Plant City man died after crashing into a car that had turned in front of him.
According to police, Tommy Jerkins, 50, was driving his motorcycle northbound on Coronet Road around 7:30 p.m. when Jessica Alexander, 32, of Lakeland, attempted a left turn onto Cason Road right in front of him.
His motorcycle struck the front of Alexander’s 2006 Saturn Ion, throwing him into a ditch 130 feet away. Jerkins died at the scene.

Deputies say that alcohol was not a factor in the crash, and that Jerkins’ motorcycle was reported stolen from the Dover area on Feb. 15 and never recovered.
