Even though prescribed medications eventually expire, they can still be dangerous if they make it to the streets. Hoping to ensure that that doesn't happen, the Plant City Police Department has joined forces with the DEA and other Tampa Bay-area police departments for the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day Initiative.
The event, which will be held this Saturday, April 30, invites all Tampa Bay residents with expired or unused medications to drop them off at a collection site. In practice, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, helps curb "pill mills" as well as drug abuse.
Plant Citians can donate their drugs to the CVS at 2302 James L. Redman Pkwy., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., anonymously. This location is sponsored by PCPD.
