Thrill-seeking options of all sizes on the Florida Strawberry Festival midway.
For thrill seekers of all ages, there’s something about experiencing the physical sensation of terror while knowing you’re safe on some level that is absolutely satisfying. While the Florida Strawberry Festival has contracted with a different midway company this year, that doesn’t mean that those seeking that rush won’t find it on one (or more) of the new company’s rides.
If you’re looking for the scariest, tallest or fastest thrill rides, here are several where you can chase after that adrenaline rush. This information was gleaned from Deggeller Attractions’ website.
There’s also a new FunTagg system that allows festival-goers to easily access unlimited ride wristbands or ride credits at any of the kiosks, which accept cash and credit cards, located on the Midway and in the Berry Patch. There is a $2 activation fee per FunTagg card, which can be used anytime, reloaded and never expires. The same fee applies to wristbands.
All rides require either credits or an unlimited ride wristband per person. Simply scan your card or wristband upon entering the ride or attraction.

There will also be a Fast Lane, the ultimate VIP Experience on the Florida Strawberry Festival midway that allows riders to avoid long waits and enjoy more rides. Fast Lane lets riders bypass the regular lines at rides and move straight to the front at designated yellow and black checkerboard spaces. A percentage of Fast Lane riders will board before general admission riders. Fast Lane Pass pricing is $15 per person, per day from Monday – Friday and $20 per person, per day, Saturday and Sunday. Fast Lane Passes are non-refundable and still require wristbands or credits to ride.
Hydra
Height Restriction: Must be at least 48” to ride
The Hydra is one of the most popular rides on the midway. Upon boarding, riders are secured with over-the-shoulder restraints. As the claw begins to rotate, it starts to swing back and forth until it reaches its full height of 60ft in the air! Combining a spinning and swinging motion, the Extreme provides riders with a completely unique riding experience.
Riptide Coaster
Height Restriction: Must be at least 48” to ride, no single riders
The Riptide is a spectacular roller coaster, manufactured by Pinfari. The Riptide features a series of hills followed by a spiral helix grand finale. At the conclusion of the ride, guests are given the option to purchase their on-ride photo.
Sea Ray
Height Restriction: Must be at least 48” to ride
The Sea Ray is a large swinging ship. Riders who sit in the middle will enjoy a more tame ride while riders sitting on either end of the ship will experience a more intense ride.
Space Port
Height Restriction: Must be a minimum of 56” to ride; maximum of 75”
One of the tallest rides at the fair! Take a spin around at speeds up to 60 mph as you spin in your seat.
Super Shot
Height Restriction: Must be a minimum of 48” to ride
Riders are safely secured in the ride vehicle using a seat belt and over-the-shoulder restraint. As the vehicle slowly raises, riders enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding midway. Once at the top, the vehicle pauses and plummets to the ground when the riders least expect it! The vehicle is brought safely to a stop using fail-safe electromagnetic brakes.
Typhoon
Height Restriction: Must be a minimum of 48” to ride
The Typhoon is a giant magic carpet ride. Riders are safely secured using over-the-shoulder restraints. As the ride motion begins, the vehicle slowly starts to rock left and right until it reaches its full height of 50ft. At full speed, riders can experience the sensation of weightlessness as the vehicle descends from full height.
Vertigo
Height Restriction: Must be a minimum of 48” to ride
The Vertigo is a high swing thrill ride that swings riders 90ft above the midway!
Wave Swinger
Height Restriction: Must be a minimum of 42” with adult; 52” alone
This classic ride takes a swing to new heights and is fun for everyone.
Cliff Hanger
Height Restriction: Must be a minimum of 42” to ride
Ever wanted to experience hang gliding but never had the opportunity? Deggeller Attractions brings hang gliding to your fair, only in a much smaller scale! The Cliff Hanger features three passenger vehicles in which patrons lie in. After being safely strapped in, the ride begins to turn. When the ride reaches full speed, it lifts into the air flying you at an angle, safely gliding through the air.
Haunted Mansion
Height Restriction: Must be a minimum of 36” to ride
The Haunted Mansion is a spooky ride through the dark. Inside the haunted mansion, guests will encounter some unique scares and mechanical props.
Musik Express
Height Restriction: Must be a minimum of 36” with adult; 50” alone
The Musik Express is a fast paced ride that rotates in a circle, both forwards and backwards, over a hilly track. The Musik Express features a booming sound system, playing today’s top music hits for its riders to enjoy.
Starship 4000
Height Restriction: Must be a minimum of 42” to ride
Step into outer space on the Starship 4000. As riders enter the giant spaceship, they take their place standing against the wall. As the door closes and the spaceship begins to rotate, centrifugal force takes over and raises the riders off the ground.
Storm
Height Restriction: Must be a minimum of 42” with adult; 48” alone
This high-speed, intense ride involves multiple rapid rotations and swings, creating a sensation of being tossed around in different directions, delivering a strong G-force experience for riders.
Zero Gravity
Height Restriction: Must be a minimum of 42” to ride
Riders stand against the cage with nothing holding them down besides centrifugal force! As the ride begins to spin, centrifugal force holds passengers firmly against the wall. After reaching full speed, the ride lifts in the air at a 50 degree angle for added thrill.
Zipper
Heigh Restriction: Must be a minimum of 48” to ride; no single riders
The ride vehicles travel around the perimeter of the boom at 4 revolutions per minute (rpm), not particularly fast, but the “flip” around the end of the oblong frame causes a sudden burst of speed and sends the compartments flipping end over end. The boom itself rotates at 7.5 rpm in the same direction as the pulley system. This combined but offset rotation provides each vehicle with a unique and unpredictable experience.
