Step Into the Magic: Mossy Hollow Market Returns for an Enchanted Forest Experience
The mystical portal to Mossy Hollow Market is opening once again! On February 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., visitors are invited to enter a whimsical woodland village filled with fairies, mushrooms, and sprites at Metals & Nature in Plant City.
Now in its third installment, Mossy Hollow Market is an immersive fantasy shopping experience featuring over 50 curated artists and makers, interactive activities, and a magical atmosphere that transports guests into an enchanted forest realm.
An Enchanting Experience Awaits
As you wander through this interactive woodland market, you’ll discover:
• A Potions Bar for magical elixirs
• Live entertainment, festive music & wandering characters
• Tarot readings & mystical vendors
• Face painting & hair braiding
• Story time with Bruton Memorial Library
• A wishing cauldron for your deepest desires
• Themed photo ops & magical decor
Costumes are highly encouraged, so embrace your inner fae, druid, or mystical creature!
The event will be held at Metals & Nature, 1501 W. Highway 60. Tickets are $5 advance purchase or $10 at the door (Cash only). Kids 13 and under are free. There is free parking with accessible and loading zones.
Food & beverage trucks will be on-site, ensuring plenty of delicious options as you explore. Guests should note that the event takes place on natural terrain, with stone and soil pathways.
Pet-Friendly & Community-Led
Metals & Nature is pet-friendly! Well-behaved pets on leashes or in carriers are welcome, but owners should be mindful of the lively environment and vendor areas.

22ND ANNUAL BLACK HERITAGE GALA
The 22nd Annual Black Heritage Gala will be held on February 7, at the Trinkle Center at Hillsborough Community College, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Gala will honor people in the community with awards. The award winners are Marion D. Cole, presented with the Heritage Award, Timothy Lovett, presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award, Marsha Passmore & Dodie White, presented with the Humanitarian Award, Karen Griggsby, presented with the Community Service Award, Mt. Moriah Ministries, presented with the Cornerstone award, and finally, the President’s Award, which is a surprise! The next day, February 8, is the Plant City Black Heritage Youth Summit and Jazz Fest. At the Jazz Festival, you will experience a stage of local entertainment, unique artists, ethnic foods and youth summit. The Jazz Festival will be held at the Robert Willaford Train Museum in Downtown Plant City from noon to 6:00 p.m. The Youth Summit will be held at Sadye Gibbs Martin Community Center from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
HCPS HONORED AS NATIONAL MAGNET AWARD WINNERS
Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) is proud to announce that 18 magnet schools have been named National Merit Award winners. Two of Hillsborough County Magnet Schools received top honors, placing them among the best in the nation. National Merit Awards are given to magnet schools by Magnet Schools of America for demonstrating a commitment to high academic standards, curriculum innovation, successful desegregation and diversity efforts, and strong parent and community involvement. To be considered for a merit award, member schools must submit an application that is scored by a panel of educators. In Plant City, the schools that were awarded are:

Marshall Middle Magnet IB World Community School- Magnet School of Distinction Award Winner

GRANT STREET ROADWORK UPDATE
The City of Plant City’s continuing work on Grant Street means the street will be closed for at least two more months. A sinkhole, that the street sits in a swamp, and the installation of new utilities make this a complicated project that will take this additional time before the street opens.
