JULY 4 CELEBRATION
SUCCESS

         Plant City’s 4th of July celebration was a resounding success, attracting just shy of 5500 attendees who braved the elements to join the festivities. This collaborative event with Plant City Chamber brought together residents and visitors alike in a joyous celebration of Independence Day. Attendees enjoyed various activities and festivities throughout the day, despite the challenging weather conditions.

Special shoutout to DJ TyWy who kept the celebration going rain or shine! In addition, we would like to thank the Strawberry Crest JROTC that presented the colors in the pouring rain, really showing the true meaning of what July 4th represents.

 Despite the rain, the spirit of community and celebration prevailed, creating lasting memories for all who attended. In addition, thank you to the City of Plant City Government and all of its departments that played a pivotal role in ensuring the event’s success, with departments collaborating seamlessly to overcome logistical challenges posed by the weather.

HOPE LUTHERAN WELCOMES MOBILE FOOD PANTRY

On Thursday, July 18th, Hope Lutheran Church, 2001 North Park Road will again host their mobile food pantry, in the church parking lot. This pantry, in association with St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Lakeland will begin distributing food to those in need beginning at 6:00 p.m. until the supplies are distributed. Anyone in need of grocery assistance is encouraged to join us as we work to eliminate food insecurities in our community. Various goods are available from vegetables to meats to dairy and bakery goods. The pantry, “Moving Hope” takes place at Hope Lutheran on the 3rd Thursday of each month. No identification is required and the pantry is open to anyone in our Plant City community needing that extra hand.

We are excited to announce an open call to all artists for the creation of the inaugural Historic Plant City Main Street Art Festival logo! We invite artists of all backgrounds to submit their unique logo designs that will capture the spirit and creativity of our vibrant community.

Gain recognition for your artistic talent as your logo will be prominently featured on all event promotional materials. Your design will help promote the Historic Plant City Main Street Art Festival, attracting both local and regional attention.

Contribute to the cultural and artistic growth of Plant City by being a part of this landmark event.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION

There is no fee to submit your design.

Design Requirements: 

The logo should reflect the artistic and community spirit of Plant City and be suitable for various promotional materials, including posters, banners, and online platforms.

Please submit your design in a high-resolution digital format (e.g., JPEG, PNG, or PDF).

Submission Process:

All designs must be submitted by 

August 2nd, 2024.

Please send your digital files and a short bio about yourself and your design to Dawn Hyatt at director@plantcitymainstreet.com 

Selection Announcement: 

The selected artist will be announced on August 9th, 2024.

Once the winning logo design is selected, it will be used to promote the Art Festival and Call for Exhibitors.

This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your creativity and be an integral part of a new and exciting event in Plant City. We look forward to seeing your inspiring designs!
