BLIND DINNER – Plant City Lions Club

The Blind Dinner Event, hosted by thte Plant City Lions Club, brings awareness on how it feels to be blind. Located at 3005 Thonotosassa Road, Plant City on Thursday, September 19, businesses are encouraged to purchase a table that will seat 8 people! All proceeds will go back into the community by helping people with eye exams and eyewear. There will also be a special guest speaker. 

Dinner Menu: Salad, Spaghetti, Garlic Bread and Dessert 

Fees/Admission:

$35 per ticket

$60 per couple

$250 per table of 8

HOPE LUTHERAN HOMECOMING SUNDAY

The members and staff of Hope Lutheran Church, 2001 North Park Road, Plant City invite and encourage the community to attend the Homecoming Sunday celebration to take place on Sunday September 15, during the congregation’s 9:15 a.m. worship service.  According to Hope’s Sr. Pastor, Rev. Dean Pfeffer, “following the service we will join together for a very special Homecoming Sunday tailgate brunch in our Fellowship Hall.  Everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite sports team jersey.”   

As a part of the celebration the members of Hope encourage anyone who has not been attending church or is looking for a church home to “Come Home to Hope.”

MOBILE FOOD PANTRY

On Thursday, September 19, Hope Lutheran Church, 2001 North Park Road will host their mobile food pantry in the church parking lot. This pantry, in association with St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Lakeland will begin distributing food to those in need beginning at 6:00 until the supplies are distributed. Anyone in need of grocery assistance is encouraged to join in to work to eliminate food insecurities in the community.  Various goods are available from vegetables to meats to dairy and bakery goods.  The pantry, “Moving Hope” takes place at Hope Lutheran on the third Thursday of each month.  No identification is required, and the pantry is open to anyone in the Plant City community needing that extra hand. FIRST ANNUAL SPLASH OF COLOR 5K RUN 

Hillsborough County Fair is excited to announce the first Annual Farmer Sydney’s Krazy Kolor 5K Run, happening on October 19, starting at 9:00 a.m. as a special pre-fair family fun run.
