HOPE LUTHERAN THANKSGIVING WORSHIP
The members and staff of Hope Lutheran Church, 2001 North Park Road, invite and encourage the Plant City community to join the Thanksgiving Worship to take place on Wednesday, November 27 at 6:30 p.m. The worship, under the leadership of Pastor Pfeffer, will remind us that “God’s promises to us never “leaf” us or forsake us.” The worship service will be blended in nature combining both traditional and contemporary music under the direction of Music Director Christine Mansell. Hope Lutheran encourages you to carve out the time in your Thanksgiving preparations to give thanks to the giver of all good gifts and to remember that only turkeys don’t give thanks! For additional information, contact the church office at 813-752-4622.

Marcelle Hunt, a resident of The Canopy at Walden Woods, celebrated her 100th birthday on November 15. Her family owned J.W. Elvis joined the celebration for Ms. Hunt since she is a big fan. “I am spellbound by all of this—and Elvis being here!” she said, then whispered, “I’m not stupid. I know it isn’t really him.”
SFBH APPLIES FOR PERMIT TO DEMOLISH LEGACY HOSPITAL
BayCare has contracted with Mills & Associates, a civil engineering firm, to apply to the City of Plant City to demolish most of the facility on Alexander Street. The permit for this project is under review by the city. Currently, crews are removing materials and equipment that can be repurposed from the legacy facility. About 121,000 square feet of exterior asphalt and concrete, and 142,000 square feet of building will be demolished. The plan is for the demolition process to begin in the first quarter of 2025, and conclude by mid-2025. The existing cancer center treatment building will remain on the property.
