MURAL UNVEILING: BURNEY ELEMENTARY
Leah Tinsley, who has done many murals in Plant City, completed a recent mural for Burney Elementary School. She was selected for this project by Tampa Foundation Executive Director Gennie Swenson. Suncoast Schools Credit Union was the generous donor for this project. Leah used the history of the school as inspiration for the project—including Esther D. Burney in the mural and focusing on the importance of leaving a legacy for the community. If you visit and see the mural, you will find that it includes Burney’s core character traits, the Burney “Bs”: Be Motivated, Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible.
