HOPE LUTHERAN WELCOMES MOBILE FOOD PANTRY
On Thursday, June 20, Hope Lutheran Church, 2001 North Park Road, will host their mobile food pantry in the church parking lot. This pantry, in association with St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Lakeland, will begin distributing food to those in need beginning at 6:00 p.m. until the supplies are distributed. Anyone in need of grocery assistance is encouraged to join the event as the church works to eliminate food insecurities in our community. Various goods are available from vegetables, to meats, to dairy, and bakery goods. The pantry, “Moving Hope,” takes place at Hope Lutheran on the third Thursday of each month. No identification is required, and the pantry is open to anyone in our Plant City community needing an extra hand of help.

MOBILE SHOWER FOR THE HOMELESS
On Wednesday, July 3, Liberty Southern Baptist Church will host a Mobile Shower Up for homeless people. The event will take place at the church’s location at 2505 Grandfield Avenue from 12-2 p.m. For more information contact the church at (813) 752-1450.
OFFER UP COMMUNITY MEETING SPOT
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is making buying and selling goods online safer, thanks to a new partnership with OfferUp, a mobile-friendly platform designed to help users buy and sell locally.
HCSO is now a designated OfferUp “Community MeetUp Spot,” or, in other words, an internet purchase exchange location. Each district office is equipped with signage and video cameras that will ensure the safety of those meeting at HCSO.
“Your Sheriff’s Office is always looking for innovative ways to meet the needs of our community, one of which is safety and security during online transactions,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Each district office is already designated as a Safe Space, and this new designation with OfferUp emphasizes our commitment to our residents.”
Within the OfferUp app, users are encouraged to select an HCSO location to complete transactions.

REELIN’ WITH A RANGER
Anglers and outdoor enthusiasts gathered last Saturday, June 15, for the highly anticipated “Reelin’ with a Ranger” event in Plant City, organized by the City of Plant City Parks and Recreation Department. The day was filled with excitement as participants showcased their fishing skills and sportsmanship, culminating in an impressive display of angling prowess.
Throughout the event, a total of 131 fish were caught, highlighting the competitive spirit across six trophy categories:
First Caught Bass: Team Reel Busy Rods wasted no time, landing their first bass at 8:31 am, just a minute after hitting the water at 8:30 am!
First Caught Catfish: Team Jr’s Brats took the early lead with a 0.5 lb catfish caught at 8:50 am.
First Caught Panfish: Team Babson Proof kicked off their tally at 8:36 A.M. and ended with an impressive 24 fish caught!
Most Fish Caught: Team Jr’s Brats dominated the leaderboard with an incredible haul of 32 fish!
Biggest Fish Caught by Weight: Team Eastside Fishing Crew reeled in a whopping 3.6-pound bass at 19 inches!
Biggest Fish Caught by Length: Team Reel Busy secured the top spot with a 20-inch catch!
