It took Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews about one-half hour to extinguish a Plant City brush fire Sunday.
According to Fire Rescue reports, crews responded Feb. 16, to 1120 Swilley Road, following the report of a large brush fire. The first crews that arrived on scene reported less than an acre of property was on fire, along with farm equipment.
The fire destroyed or heavily damaged ancillary farm equipment. No structures were threatened during this fire. This address is mainly open field and brush with strawberry fields. No injuries were reported.
Multiple units responded with tanker trucks, which carry 3,500 gallons of water, are crucial for the rural areas of the county.
