A vehicle hit a school bus with no children inside on Tuesday, April 25.
A school bus traveling westbound on State Road 574 Tuesday, April 25, was struck in a right-of-way violation.
Florida Highway Patrol says that the driver of a 2003 Hyundai Elantra, heading eastbound on SR-574, entered the turn lane for McIntosh Road and attempted a left turn upon getting a green light. The car struck the left front side of the bus, which had no children inside, around 5:24 a.m.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the incident. There were no injuries reported, and no one was transported to a hospital.
