Mel Belisle
Mel Belisle, 81, of Plant City, died May 25.
He was born on April 27, 1936 in Blakely, Ga.
His family moved to Plant City in 1942 and he graduated from Plant City High School in 1955. He was the owner of Fife Electric Supply and Fife Pipe, employing many people. He served on the board of directors of Fort Brook Bank and Brandon Hospital and was a member of the Brandon Rotary Club, where he was past president and started the Wild Game Cookout. He was also a member of the Plant City Rotary Club. He loved his family, especially his grandsons, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and coaching youth baseball.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeanette Belisle; sons, Keith Belisle (Betty Joyce) of Samson, Ala., and Kevin Belisle (Annie) of Durant; and grandsons, Justin Belisle (Nicki), and Jake Belisle (Morgan).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Eva Belisle; and two brothers, Billy Belisle, and Joel Belisle.

Jacqueline 'Jackie' Braswell Kendrick
Jacqueline “Jackie” Braswell Kendrick, 70, of Plant City, Florida, died June 5.
She retired from IMC Global, Inc. with 25 years of service as a plant supervisor and the first woman hired in the phosphate industry to work outside the office in a mine.
She is survived by her sister, Patsy B. Holley; her husband, George; nephews, Benjamin Wilson, Michael Wilson, Mark Wilson (Robin); James Holley (Lena), Gene Burtz (Pamela), Fred Burtz (Chris), Julius “Sleepy” Burtz (Connie); niece, Melanie Wilson; stepdaughter, Judy McNabb; several grandchildren; and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel B. Kendrick; her parents, Ledford Patton Braswell and Minnie Myrtle Chisholm Braswell; and brother Michael Coleman Braswell.
Jackie requested cremation and no service. She asked her ashes be spread on the Blue Ridge Parkway in her beloved mountains of North Carolina. Instead of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation or your favorite charity.

Robert F. Jenkins, 52, of Plant City, died June 8.

Larry S. Dormany
Larry S. Dormany, 93, died June 10 in Tallahassee.
He was born February 6, 1924 in Plant City, Florida to Larry Greene and Mary Anna Dormany and was part of the “Greatest Generation.”
He was the great-grandson of Manual and Evelina Weatherford Gonzalez, founders of Ft. Myers, FL and the grandson to early Plant City settlers John J. and Sarah Walden Dormany.
He was a graduate of Plant City High School and entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 1942 during World War II. His service included being in service at Pearl Harbor and during the invasion of the Marshall Islands. After WWII he returned to Florida and graduated from the Tampa Business College. He married the love of his life, Letha Hutchings. They were married for more than 50 years, until Letha’s death in 2003.
Dormany was employed by the Greyhound Corporation for 35 years. He was most passionate about his family. He was a member of the Olin S. Wright Masonic Lodge 79 and a lifetime member and Saint Peters Episcopal Church where he served on the vestry.
He is survived by daughter, Karen Mica (David); grandson David Mica Jr. (Mary Caroline); granddaughters, Julianne and Allison Mica; and great-grandson, David Mica III.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Letha; and son Larry Stephen Dormany.
The family wishes to thank Big Bend Hospice for their comfort.
A graveside service will be held at noon on June 19 at Oaklawn Cemetery East, in Plant City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Peters Episcopal Church, Plant City, or Saint Peters Anglican Church, Tallahassee or the Big Bend Hospice, Tallahassee.

Garth W. Pementer, 62, of Plant City died June 10 at his home.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cheryl Permenter.
