He loved his family dearly, and enjoyed traveling, camping, and the North Carolina mountains. He was preceded in death by wife, Helen Dixon; and grandchildren, David Jr., and Amanda. He is survived by children, David Dixon (Debbie), Kenny Dixon (Charlene), and Karen Sullivan (Kevin); grandchildren, Brandon, Brenda, Charlie, and Sammy; 11 great-grandchildren; and brother, Donald Dixon (Martha).
