Thomas Collins Campbell, Ruby L. Chaney, Betty Jane Dent, Francis B. Filter, Anna Lee Hall and Agnes Tessitore

Thomas Collins Campbell

Thomas Collins Campbell, 91, of Riverview, died Sept. 22, at Brandon Regional Hospital.

Born April 21, 1921 in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of the late Thomas Campbell and the late Stella Whyte Campbell. He was the husband of the late Ruth Junkerman Campbell.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 until 1945.

Mr. Campbell was retired from the aerospace industry, a Realtor with an active broker’s license and was a lay minister.

Survivors includes sons, Edgar Campbell and Thomas C. Campbell, Jr.; daughters, Arita Campbell McFadyen, Sarah Jackson and Sue Farrokh; seven grand children; and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was Sept. 26, at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 S.W. 102nd Ave., Bushnell.

Ruby L. Chaney

Ruby L. Chaney, 82, died Sept. 22, in Plant City.

She was born March 2, 1930, in Charleston, S.C., to Hinton and Joan (Salvo) Lumley. She married Bernard Chaney, deceased.

She was homemaker and was a member of the Strawberry Singles in Plant City.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Horn (David), of Plant City, Kathy Rogers (Timmy), of Georgia; one son, Gary Mull Sr. (Mary Ann), of Plant City; a brother, Huey V. Lumley (Cherry), of Plant City; and a sister, Judy Willis (Cleo), of Plant City; and eight grandchildren, Chip Mull, Cristi Bailey, Lori Mull, Tina Mull, David T. Horn, Chad Horn, Brandon Horn and Jana Johnson.

Funeral services were Sept. 26, at Wells Memorial Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered at wellsmemorial.com.

Betty Jane Dent

Betty Jane Dent, 84, of Plant City, died Sept. 19, 2012.

She was the daughter of the late Earl and Maxine Billups Graves.

Mrs. Dent attended Marshall University. She was a nurse working at Tampa General Hospital and South Florida Baptist Hospital. She also was a member of Plant City’s First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Calvin R. Dent; children, Wesley D.(Kathy) Claar, Deborah Claar (David) Taylor, Lee Ann (Dale) Goff and Vicki Lambert; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Francis B. Filter

Francis B. Filter, 94, died Sept. 19, in Winter Haven.

Mr. Filter was born in Moundsville, W. Va., on Sept. 5, 1918, to Kesty and Veronica (Kozikowski) Filter. He was a World War II veteran and worked in the coal mines.

He married Anne (Byser), who is deceased.

Survivors include two daughters, Lana O’Connell (Conrad) and Lynn Robart (Larry); one sister, Wanda Olako; grandchildren, John O’Connell, Kelly Honn (Frank), Roger Robart (Nyssa) and Roxanne Feit (Adam); and great-grandchildren, Drake Honn, Baylee Honn, Molly O’Connell, Matthew O’Connell, Marci Robart and Ben Feit.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Henry, Edward, Kesty Filter and Pete Slater; and four sisters, Veronica Myslevic, Lottie Bukowsky, Regina Veronic and Helen Rich.

Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery, Plant City.

Anna Lee Hall

Anna Lee Hall, 55, of Dover, died on Sept. 16, at Sun City Center Hospice House, Ruskin.

Born Aug. 4, 1957 in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late William Boggs and the late Cora Poplin Boggs. She was the wife of Kenneth “Ken” Hall.

She served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include daughters, Cora Lee (Chris) Greenwood and Ashley Hall; and brothers, Thomas Boggs and Tyson Heilman.

The family received Sept. 20, at Haught Funeral Home Chapel, Plant City.

Agnes Tessitore

Agnes Tessitore, 72, of Plant City, died Sept. 17, after a tough two-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Mrs. Tessitore was born on Nov. 28, 1939, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived much of her life on Long Island. She moved to Plant City 15 years ago and enjoyed the area with her husband, Jack.

She dedicated her life in Florida to working with the Laurel Lakes Landscape Committee, singing in the St. Clements Church choir, actively attending the YMCA gym and beautifully tending her own garden.

Mrs. Tessitore is survived by Jack, now in Stone Ledge Manor Nursing Home, Thonotosassa; three children, Julie, Andrew and Lisa; six grandchildren, Nicholas, 16, Casey, 15, Zachary, 15, Gregory, 11, Samantha, 9, and Joseph, 8 months.

The family wishes to thank everyone at Caring Hands Helping Hands and LifePath Hospice. Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to St. Clement Church Choir.

Services will be held Sept. 28, at St. Clement Church, 1104 N. Alexander St. All are welcome.
