James Floyd Tillman, Sr.

James Floyd Tillman, Sr., resident of Williston, Fla., went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 28, 2023, at the age of 91.

Rev. Tillman was born on Jan. 14, 1932 in Plant City, Fla., to parents Richard and Katherine Tillman. He was a Korean War veteran that served over 20 years in the U.S. Coast Guard and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. After retiring he became a successful Residential Contractor and Realtor for many years. As a Devout Christian, he was called to serve in the missionary field, helping to build churches and later became a Southern Baptist Minister for more than 30 years. James was a widower after 69 years of a loving marriage to Sharon L. Berry Tillman. They were a perfectly matched team. Jim, Buddy, or Floyd loved the Lord Jesus, family, country, and others. You might say he lived his life loving, serving, and helping others, above himself. He lived a selfless life caring for others and telling everyone he met, that Jesus loves and forgives them. He alone is the truth, the light and the way of life. He is survived by his children, James F. Tillman, Jr. (Cynthia), Katherine Hudson and Teresa Cummings (Richard).
