Ewanna was born in Plant City, Fla. on Nov. 30, 1945, to Jack and Juanita Glaros. She was preceded in death by both parents and her sister, Jean. She is survived by her loving husband, Ernest, of 60 years as well as her two children, Laura Smith and Matthew (Melissa) Linton, her eight grandchildren, Brittany, Josh, Jared (Joanne), Cameron (Beyonce), Cristian, Courtney, Jackson and Declan and four great-grandchildren, Hayden, Maddox, Callista and Genevalise.
Ewanna attended Plant City High School where she graduated in 1963. There, she met her husband, Ernest, whom she married in 1964. After marrying, Ernest and Ewanna began their love story that became the admiration of many, setting the example of what a loving marriage should be. They started their family and Ewanna dedicated herself to raising her children alongside her husband, pouring her love into them one moment at a time. After years spent as a homemaker, she then worked for the City of Lakeland from 1998-2008.
Ewanna was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Plant City, FL. She embodied the love of her Savior by her warm and welcoming spirit that she shared with all who were fortunate enough to be in her presence.
Ewanna’s love for her family was fierce and unwavering. Always the peacemaker, Ewanna was a matriarch in the purest sense of the word. She was the North Star of the family, involved in every aspect of each family member’s lives. She always made spending time with family a priority and made it a point to attend every event big or small. Nothing was more important to her than making sure her family was showered in love.
Those who knew Ewanna will remember her for her smile, her kind eyes, gentleness, and abundant love. As we bid farewell to Ewanna in this life, we are comforted to know she is in the presence of her Heavenly Father and is watching over all of us in her glorious seat in Heaven.
