Miriam “Peggy” Park

Miriam “Peggy” Park Webb, 94, of Plant City, Fla., born on Dec. 17, 1929, in Andalusia, Alabama, entered into eternal rest on June 25, 2024. She worked for Goodyear for 35 years and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where she served on the Hospitality Committee, taught Sunday School, and worked in many other capacities. She enjoyed entertaining her family, fishing, yardwork, and crafting. She was preceded in death by her first husband of almost 60 years, Robert Park, and her second husband, William “Bill” Webb; parents, Tom and Eula Mae Hudson; siblings, Dennis Hudson, and Harmon Hudson; son-in-law, Danny Pearson; and siblings-in-law, Bernice Hudson, Ray Richardson, Jack Kelley, and Marie Hudson. She is survived by daughters, Bonnie Pearson of Plant City, and Patricia Tindle of Louisville, Tennessee; grandchildren, David Pearson (Becky), Karen Oates (David), and Brianna Tindle; great-grandchildren, William Pearson, Anna Kate Oates, Lauren Oates, John Parker Oates, Thomas Pearson, and Allison Oates; siblings, Noma Riley (Bill), Aaron Hudson, Sr., Betty Richardson, Mary Agnes Agen (Jym), and Jerri Kelley; and many other nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery, Plant City. A funeral service was held July 2, 2024 at Hopewell Funeral Home, 6005 South County Road 39, Plant City, FL.

Lillian Marie Dippold

Lillian Marie Dippold, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2024, in Ruskin, Fla., at the age of 82. Born on Nov. 4, 1941, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana. Services will be held privately by the family.

Mattie Lee Brock Youmans

Mattie Lee Brock Youmans, 94, of Lake Panasoffkee, Fla., passed away in Temple Terrace, Fla., on June 27, 2024. She was born in Weeksbury, Kentucky on July 2, 1929, to Barney and Gypsy Brock. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Plant City, Fla. She enjoyed sewing, painting, cooking, crafting, and gardening. She is survived by her daughters: Vonda Gainey (Ronald) of Plant City, Florida, Wanda Youmans Rimmer of Brandon, Florida, and Marsha Youmans Glass (Randy Kreisel) of Beverly Hills, Florida; grandchildren: Lisa Campbell (David), John Stine (Penney), Leanne Reed (Kirby Delozier), Krysta G. Heitman (Greg), Katyna (Claudine), Mark Weaver (Olivia), Mike Rimmer (Linda), and Derek Glass (Heather); many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and sister: Dora Mae Smith of Deland, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband: Linton W. Youmans; son-in-laws: David Sandy Rimmer and Jimmy E. Stine; step granddaughter: Paula Franklin; brothers: Delbert Brock and David Brock; sister: Manchie Walsingham, Joann Pope, and Thelma Edwards. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wreaths Across America, Bethany Baptist Church of Plant City, or Chapters Health Hospice. A private service for the family will be held at a later date. Earl C. Godwin (EC)

Earl C. Godwin (EC), 96, born1928 in Sorrento, Fla., passed peacefully at home in Dover, Fla., on June 1, 2024, and is now with our Lord Jesus. He served In the Navy aboard the USS Higbee (DD/DDR-806), then the U.S. Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crises and retired from the Air Force Reserve in 1988. He lived in Titusville, Fla., from 1962 to 2004. He worked 31 years at the Kennedy Space Center as Supervisor over M/O Paint Shop as Chief Blast Master. Earl said “What you do in your free time will get you ahead in life” he painted signs. In 2004, he moved to the Dover, Fla. farm with his wife Dorothy and two dogs. Earl generously shared his time, talents, wisdom, stories, humor, skills, and donated over seven gallons of blood. Earl loved and cared for his family and was a loyal friend. For pleasure he fished and golfed in tournaments and senior games till age 90, with many trophies to show how skilled he was in these pursuits. He was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Dorothy Rose Godwin, 90, and son Steven (Earl) Godwin, 29 (1982). He is survived by his sister Phyllis Byles, daughters Diana Godwin Thompson and Sonja Godwin Oppfelt (Walter), granddaughter Heather Thompson Parks (Jeff), great-grandson Koa Parks, grandsons Anthony Lee Oppfelt and Michael Oppfelt (Darcie), great-granddaughters Cassandra and Isabella, cousins, nephews, nieces and many devoted friends. 

His ”Celebration of Life” will be held at the Turkey Creek First Baptist Church, 4915 W Trapnell Rd, Plant City, FL 33566, on Saturday, July 6, 2024, visitation 1 p.m., service 2 p.m. Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to James A. Redenta Rodriguez
