Alan Clarence Dixson, 83 of Plant City died Jan. 1, 2014, at his home.
Born March 4, 1930, in Dorchester, Mass., he was the son of the late Clifford and Edith McGiveney Dixson. He was the husband of Marcia Clark Dixson, who survives.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, loved woodworking and gardening, was a farmer and rancher; raising sheep and hogs for many years.
Survivors also include a son, Brian Dixson; daughters, Colleen Melanson and Susan Dixson; brother John Dixson; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
The family will be having private services.
