Obituary: Barbara Pugsley

Barbara Pugsley, 79, of Plant City, died Sept. 27, 2014, with her family by her side, in Tampa.

Mrs. Pugsley was born Feb. 3, 1935, in Chicago, to Walter and Elizabeth Houck. After moving to Pittsburgh, she worked for U.S. Steel, where she made many friends and met her future husband, Gordon Pugsley. The couple married in 1971. Upon retirement, they moved in 1993, to Florida.

Mrs. Pugsley was a passionate athlete and sports fan, especially when it came to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates and the Alabama Crimson Tide. She excelled at softball, golf and bowling.

Mrs. Pugsley is survived by her son, David Pugsley (Michelle), of Plant City; stepdaughter, Jennifer Pugsley, of Miami Shores; sister, Lois Kosko, of Pittsburgh; and brother, William Houck (Gail), of Leesburg. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon.

An informal reception for friends and family was held in Pittsburgh. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the charity of your choice.
