Brenda Hicks Brooks, 54, of Plant City, died Oct. 7, 2013 from glioblastoma brain cancer.
She was employed with Geico Insurance for 18 years.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Brooks; children, Krystal Grimes (Michael Snyder), April Schmitz (Erik), Matthew Glover (Nikki), Zachary Brooks and Chase Brooks; granddaughter, Abbigail Grimes; father, Billy Hicks; siblings, Tim Hicks (Claire) and Kathy Atwood (Doug); and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Evangeline Snyder; mother, Jewell Hicks; and sister, Debbie Hicks.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at Hopewell Funeral Home, 6005 C.R. 39 S., Plant City.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at Hopewell Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Hopewell Memorial Gardens, Plant City.
In lieu of traditional flower arrangements, memorial contributions may be made to a brain cancer research organization of your choice, and/or potted flowers may be contributed for her butterfly garden.
