Catarino “Cato” Ortiz
Catarino “Cato” Ortiz, 78, of Plant City, died Dec. 27, 2016.
He was born in Topeka, Kansas, to Domingo and Joaquina Ortiz. He was of the Catholic faith. He was a retired master sergeant with the United States Air Force, having served in Vietnam. He also was retired from the National Security Agency, where he was a GS15 analyst.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Roberta Ortiz; stepdaughter, Melissa O’Brien (Edward); brother, Phillip Ortiz; sister, Marcella Ortiz; and grandchildren, Casey and Shane O’Brien.
A memorial service was held Jan. 3, at Wells Memorial Funeral Home and Event Center in Plant City.
