Earl Lamar Smith Sr., 78, of Dover, died Oct. 13, 2014.
Mr. Smith was an elder and Sunday school teacher at Dover Advent Christian Church for many years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Upon his return, he founded and operated Advance Electric of Tampa Inc., for more than 40 years, providing many mentoring opportunities for young men over the years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Smith.
He is survived by sons, Earl “JR” Smith Jr. (Carol “CJ”), Cary (Kristen) and William “Will” (Christine); siblings, Louise Pope, Lavern Smith (Mary Nell) and Dennis Smith; grandchildren, Kendra Smith, Austin Smith, Jared Smith and Sierra Smith; and godchildren, Timothy Parker, Jessica Parker and Christopher Parker.
A celebration of life memorial service was held Oct. 16, at Dover Advent Christian Church, Dover. Interment at Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Tampa.
