Obituary: Eileen Maginnis

Eileen Maginnis, of Lithia, died March 22, 2015.

After a valiant two-year fight, Mrs. Maginnis lost her battle to cancer this week. After a 30-year career as a nurse in New York, Mrs. Maginnis found new friends, new interests and the Tampa Bay Lightning. She leaves behind hundreds of saddened hearts, all of whom are better for their time with her. Not only was she a great friend, she also served as a role model for how to live a fun-filled, generous life.

She leaves behind her devastated husband of 30 plus years, Patrick; daughter, Michelle; son, Jesse; and five loving brothers, four sisters-in-law, 11 nieces and four nephews.

A celebration of life was held at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home in Riverview. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Wounded Warrior Project to honor the country she loved.
