Ellis Loyd, 78, of Lakeland, died Dec. 6, 2014, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 12, 1936, in Turkey Creek, he was the son of the late George and Lulu Loyd. He was the husband of the late Jacqueline Loyd. Mr. Loyd was a graduate of Turkey Creek High School, a retired boilermaker with the Tampa local and a 32nd Degree Mason, and loved woodworking, working on motors and reading.
He was predeceased by daughter, Brenda Baysinger. Surviving are daughters, Bonnie Gardner and Deborah Mitchell; brothers, Howard (Shirley) Loyd, James Roberts and Jay Roberts; sisters, Evelyn Strickland, Marian (Randall) Sistrunk and Pearl (Bill) Reeves; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1805 North Park Road, Plant City. The family will receive friends from one hour prior to service at the church. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.haughtfuneralhome.com.
