Gene Newsome
Gene Newsome, 83, of Plant City, died March 25, 2017.
He was born May 22, 1933. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a retired switchman and conductor with Seaboard Coast Line Railroad and a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid fan of the Florida Gators.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Newsome.
He is survived by his siblings, Harry J. Newsome (Pat), Carolyn Hicks (Don), Shirley Hicks (Jim) and Ray Newsome (Jo Beth); and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A Celebration of Life was held March 30, at Bethany Baptist Church in Plant City.
Committal followed at Memorial Park, Plant City.
