James W. Stokes, 90, of Plant City, died April 28, 2016.
He was born in Brantley, Alabama, to Jerry and Nina (Smith) Stokes. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and retired from Tampa Electric after working there for more than 40 years.
He is preceded in death by his first wife of 48 years, Lillie M. Stokes; and second wife of 20 years, Loeta Stokes.
He is survived by his sons, James Stokes and Jerry Stokes (Paula); brothers, William P. Stokes and Matthew Stokes; sisters, Ohni Williams and Telatha Howard; grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Jared and Bailie; and great-grandchildren, Matthew, Abby, Emma and Lilly.
