Laura Jean Farmer, 89, died March 9, 2014, in Sebring.
She was born Sept. 20, 1924, in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., to Alfred and Lura (New) Adair.
Mrs. Farmer, known as “Jean” to most, moved to with her family to Bradley Junction from Lawrenceburg. The family settled in Plant City. She graduated in 1944, from Plant City High School and has been a member of the Plant City’s First Baptist Church for 73 years.
She married Maxwell Farmer Jr. Oct. 17, 1948, at the church. They both served in the church and in their community. Mr. Farmer died in 2004.
Mrs. Farmer was the backbone of the family. We remember holidays at her home were truly special.
She is survived by nephews, John Lamar Fleming, of Sebring and Andrew Paul Fleming, of Cedar Key; niece, Sara Melinda Dean, of Sebring; seven great nephews and nieces; and 10 great-great nephews and nieces.
Private services were held with her family.
