Obituary: Linton H. ‘€œLH’€ Terry

Linton H. “LH” Terry Jr., 82, peacefully died at his home in Plant City from respiratory failure Dec. 2, 2014.

Mr. Terry was born Nov. 10, 1932, in Lakeland, to the late Linton H. Terry Sr., and Florida Melton Terry. He began his career as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Military Police, became a stockbroker, worked as a sales rep for General Box Company and later retired from the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office. He was a wonderful husband, father and devoted family man. During his life, he coached Little League baseball, taught Sunday school at College Heights Methodist Church and endeared himself to many. He enjoyed golf, hunting, cooking his infamous secret barbecue chicken, and spending time with family and friends he cared for so much.

Mr. Terry is survived by a loving family that includes his wife of 60 years, Evelyn Fouts Terry; children, Cynthia Terry (John Singler) of Lakeland, Linton Terry of Plant City and Patricia Randall (Blaine) of Port Orange; grandchildren, Linton M. Terry (Nicole) of Lakeland, Aubrey Krueger (Bob) of Tampa, Kristen Terry (Jarrod) of Auburn, Alabama, and Abigayle and Emma Randall of Port Orange; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Braden and Linton “LJ” Terry and Trey Krueger; brother, Charles M. Terry (Jean) of Lakeland; and several cousins, nieces and relatives by marriage.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at the Tribute Center of Heath Funeral Chapel in Lakeland, with a celebration of life being held  there at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.HeathFuneralChapel.com.
