Louise Wolf, 71, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Nov. 17, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John David Wolf; and grandson, John Travis Sanders. Mrs. Wolf is survived by her loving daughter, Kimberly Sanders (Lloyd) of Norman; son, David Wolf (Cynthia) of Lakeland; grandchildren, Caleb Sanders of Norman and Katherine Louise Wolf of Plant City; and great-grandchildren, Amy and Andrew Sanders.
Mrs. Wolf was raised at Whitaker Orphanage after the untimely death of her mother and grandmother. She never looked at this as an obstacle but always spoke of her time there joyfully. While at the orphanage, she graduated from Pryor Senior High School, where she lettered in the band playing saxophone. She also became a licensed beautician while at Whitaker.
Mrs. Wolf spent very little time as a beautician, but rather began a career in the food service industry working for Dunn’s Dairy Queens in Norman. She started with Dunn’s as a cashier and left the company as a regional manager. Mrs. Wolf was a great influence on many young adults in Norman as their first employer, and she always took great pride in that.
Mrs. Wolf believed in hard work; she spoke her mind when asked and sometimes without being asked. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren. Having been raised at the orphanage, she put great emphasis on her family. Louise will be greatly missed by those who loved her, and many thanks to her daughter and son-in-law Kim and Lloyd Sanders for taking such loving care of her over the past couple of years.
A cremation and a memorial service will be held at at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at Washington Cemetery.
