Mary Lou Ham, 88, died April 4, 2014.
Born in Ojus (Miami/Dade), Mrs. Ham grew up with four brothers and three sisters, on a farm near Plant City, where she learned the values of hard work, frugality and discipline.
Married in 1946, she was a loving homemaker, helped to manage Ham’s Pharmacy, in St. Petersburg, and worked as a school crossing guard. She loved her God, her family and baseball (she was an avid Rays fan).
She is survived by her son, Alfred Ham (Jana); and daughter, Shirley Gamble (Roger); three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Northside Baptist Church, in St. Petersburg, or the SPCA.
