Stanley L. Schmitt, 89, of Plant City, died Aug. 23, 2014, also his 67th wedding anniver-sary.
Mr. Schmitt was born July 16, 1925 in Cincinnati, Ohio. to Edward and Doris Schmitt.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Weber Schmitt; children, Steven Schmitt, David Schmitt (Joyce), Sally Watson Keene (Marlon); grandchil-dren, Dr. Holly Schmitt (Darren Fox), Bonnie Melson (Phillip) and Sara Collins (Brian); and great-grand-children, Luke Melson, Grant Melson, Thor Collins and Arden Melson.Also survived by siblings, Betty Butcher and Jack Schmitt.
Mr. Schmitt graduated in 1943, from Western Hills High School, Cincinnati, and entered the U.S. Navy. He served in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
After the war, he attended Ohio Mechanics Institute graduating in 1950. Mr. Schmitt worked as a superintendent for a contractor until 1973, when he moved to Oldsmar, FL and began his own com-pany. In 1946, Mr. Schmitt met the love of his life, Jean Weber and they were married on August 23, 1947 in Cincinnati, OH. In 1986, Mr. Schmitt moved to Plant City, FL. A Memorial Service will be on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 6pm at Wells Memorial. Interment will be at Oak Hills Cem-etery, Glendale, OH in the family plot.
