Dr. William C. Haskett, 91, of Plant City, died Dec. 8, 2014.
Dr. Haskett was born Jan. 26, 1923, to William and Lee Haskett in Peru, Indiana. He was a proud Army Aircorp veteran. In 1944, he married the love of his life, Lu. He has a PhD from Iowa State University and is an alum of Kansas State University. After moving to Plant City in 1974, he became a member of First Presbyterian Church and served as an elder, deacon and teacher. He was looked to as a pillar in his church and was also a member of the Florida Horticultural Society.
He is predeceased by wife, Luemma Haskett; son, William C. Haskett Jr.; and brother, Robert A. Haskett. He is survived by daughters, Carol Shepard and Barbara Ripple (Richard); grandson, Stephen Ripple; niece, Judy Wylam; and nephew, Rob Haskett. The family greatly appreciates the loving care of St. Joseph’s Hospital, North and Main.
Memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. David Delph officiating. Condolences may be made at WellsMemorial.com.
