Wyona Eudora Douglas, 93, of Lithia, died Sept. 14, 2015.
A native of Tampa, Mrs. Douglas was the daughter of the late Willie and Margaret Stringfellow McColskey.
She was a war bride and a minister’s wife, and was a well-loved mom, grandma and granny.
She was a member of Plant City’s First Baptist Church and was a dedicated servant to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She started teaching at a young age and had over 45 years in children’s ministry.
She also served many positions at churches all over Florida as a pianist and organist.
She is survived by her son, James (Irene) Ellis; daughters, Wanda (Charlie) Cox and Sharon Lockyer; sister, Mavis Cleveland; brothers, Robert and L.H. (Barbara) McColskey; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Margaret Stringfellow McColskey; husbands, Rev. J.W. Ellis (29 years) and Oren Douglas (nine years); and sisters, Naomi McColskey and Willie Mae Adams.
A visitation was held on Sept. 17 at Haught Funeral Home in Plant City, followed by a funeral service Sept. 18 at Plant City’s First Baptist Church.
