Operation Dog Days of Dover

From 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office will partner with Hillsborough County Pet Resources for “Operation Dog Days of Dover.”

The purpose of this proactive event is to help ensure the safety of residents walking in the neighborhood, along with the welfare of pets in the Dover community. Field teams will educate residents on the standards for proper animal care, leash laws and more. Assistance will also be given to pet owners in need, including food, leashes and vouchers for the county’s low-cost spay and neuter program.

Personnel from both agencies will be in the parking lot of the former HCSO Dover Substation at 7:30 a.m. The substation is located on North Dover Road, just south of Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard in Dover.

Residents interested in finding more information on community standards and programs for pets can contact the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center at (813) 744-5660.
