Two Plant City Police Department officers received awards at Monday's Respect for Law dinner.
Officers Joshua Snyder and William Harvester got some special recognition Monday night.
At the annual Respect for Law dinner, hosted by the Plant City Optimist Club, Snyder and Harvester received Officer of the Year awards from the club. The men received plaques from Optimist Club President Jeff Arnold and event coordinator David Kinghorn.
“The Plant City Optimist Club is proud to annually support our law enforcement community and reach out to our area’s youth by involving them in our recognition of those that serve our community in order to keep our citizens safe,” Arnold said.
The event also included a demonstration by Officer Mike Zaccaro and K-9 Leto, and Captains Susan Pruet and Jerry Stwan spoke about the need to respect law enforcement officers, as well as the accomplishments that earned Snyder and Harvester their awards.
Gentleman's Quest groups from Marshall and Tomlin middle schools were in attendance, with program heads Stanley Glover and Charles Green, as was MLK Recreation Center Coordinator Ja'Vae Ingraham and the center's mentoring group.
