The incident happened about 5:30 a.m. near the intersection of Gallagher and Franklin roads. The student, who attends Strawberry Crest High School, was walking to the bus stop when a black car pulled up beside her, sheriff’s officials said.

The driver yelled for the student to “get in the car,” officials said. The student yelled back an obscenity. A passenger then repeated the demand before the student ran away.

The first man was described as skinny, with short, straight hair. He wore a gray T-shirt. The other man was described as skinny with prominent cheek bones, a light mustache and goatee and short, scruffy hair. He wore a black shirt with white trim.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Hillsborough County sheriff’s office at (813) 247-8200.
