A formal proclamation was held Thursday, May 7, at City Hall for the National Day of Prayer. Mayor Rick Lott gave the proclamation. State Rep. Dan Raulerson also was in attendance.
During the hour-long ceremony, different community members prayed for a variety of things:
Pastor Norm Blanton: personal repentance
Pastor Joe Kelley: marriage/family
Pastor Tim Knighten: racial reconciliation
Pastor Jeff Howell: police/first responders
Dr. Brenda Dukes: business/marketplace
Pastor Daniel Middlebrooks: nation/military
Pastor Julio Santana: education/children
