Donnie Jones, 26, of Plant City, was arrested Feb. 19, after detectives from the SID Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement Team and Florida Department of Corrections found a moonshine still and drug paraphernalia on his property.
Detectives responded to 3501 Edwards Road in Plant City, to locate a possible meth lab. FDOC officers and detectives were searching a shed located on the property, when they discovered a moonshine still under an overhang that was part of the shed.
Detectives found a red plastic 50-gallon barrel, which contained fermenting corn mash and strawberries. They also found a white plastic barrel that contained a copper (worm) tubing. In addition, they found some meth lab-making items, but did not find a operational lab on the property.
Jones was arrested on charges of VOP–resisting law enforcement officer without violence, VOP–possession of a controlled substance, VOP–possesion of marijuana and VOP–possession of drug paraphernalia. Additional charges for the still are pending.
