Plant City High School’s own Christian Bentrovato was one of 210 high schoolers selected to attend the 25th annual Global Youth Institute from Oct. 17-20.
Bentrovato was selected after writing a research paper on the topic of food insecurity and how families can improve their security situation. At the three-day conference, he presented his own research and participated in service-learning projects and other activities related to the topic of food insecurity. He was one of five students selected from Florida.
The conference is held in conjunction with the World Food Prize Borlaug Dialogue International Symposium and brings in youth from all over the world to participate in the fight to end world hunger.
