The Plant City Strawberry Classic Cruise-In is still a highly attended event, 20 years after highly envied vehicles began to show off their assets on the streets of Historic Downtown. Soon, the event, hosted by the Plant City Chamber of Commerce, will add swap meets to the itinerary. The first swap meet will be Sept. 16.
The monthly event has free bounce houses, kids entertainment, a DJ, food trucks and a 50/50 raffle. Local shops and restaurants stay open for the event as well for those who wish to escape the heat. This month, the show featured trucks from the year 1992 or prior.
The car show is on the third Saturday every month, rain or shine. Upcoming shows will be Sept. 16, Oct. 21, Nov. 18, Dec. 16 and Jan. 20. Registration and attendance are both free of charge.
