At long last, after many months of uncertainty, Plant City-area cyclists got to hit the road for Dean Z. Snyder.
The eighth annual Dean’s Ride fundraiser was held Sept. 12 and was a hit: 165 riders registered for the event, according to Plant City Family YMCA executive director Paul Conley. That alone raised a total of $8,000 for the YMCA’s local LiveSTRONG foundation for cancer fighters, survivors and families.
Brandon Snyder, Dean Snyder’s son, also announced Roots Tap Room and Wine Bar raised $1,180 for the Plant City Y’s LiveSTRONG foundation through its “Dean’s Pick” offering. Roots donates 100 percent of net profits from sales of Luce — which was Dean Snyder’s favorite wine — to the foundation and sold nine bottles in its first year of operating. The check was presented to Conley shortly before Dean’s Ride 8 began.
